There are 9.1 million people in the UK with significant hearing loss – one in seven of the population.

Deaf Vision’s services reflect the complex nature of deafness and the profound effect deafness has on the individual. We are committed to the educational, physical, social and spiritual well being of our clients and members.

In recent years we have been co-operating with our colleagues across the border in Dumfries & Galloway.  Following the recommendations of lottery funded research, we are intending to extend our services into South West Scotland.

At the last Annual General Meeting of Cumbria Deaf Association (Company name) the membership unanimously agreed that the Articles and Memorandum should be changed to enable people from, Cumbria, Dumfries and Galloway to be full voting members of the organisation.  We are also registered as a charity in Scotland.

DeafVision is the result of a cross border partnership between Cumbria Deaf Association and key organisations and individuals with a commitment to the development of services in Cumbria and Dumfries and Galloway.
